One of my favorite collections for this fall is Christian Lacroix's monochromatic assortment of artful pieces. Christian Lacroix is a French designer who originally studied 18th century art in Paris, France. He once said:
“For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is.”
His fall 2009 collection is very ready-to-wear. I am a college student on a budget, so although I may not always be able to afford the latest and greatest, I can draw inspiration from collections like Lacroix's. Here are my favorites, enjoy!

How can you say you're on a budget when you have tons of clothes listed for a couple hundereds of dollars. It's simply not realistic for people that live on a REAL budget. You should real look into the figures of the economy and what typical college students bring in, and not follow the tails of the rich kids. Don't cheat yourself you aren't helping anyone on a budget, because no one short on cash is buying the suggusted items.
Thank you for your feedback. I took a poll on my readers' budgets when I first began this blog and the figures were very spread out. I try and incorporate items from all budgets and a diversity of stores. This post, as you mentioned, does have several items that are a few hundred dollars, but I encourage you to view other posts such as "Colored Handbags Under $75" and other blogs where I frequently refer to stores such as Forever 21 where most items are ~$20.
Additionally, this post in particular features Christian Lacroix which has dresses in the $1,200+ I thought a $80 version would be helpful. Thank you again for your feedback, I always have my readers' best interest at hand.
I check this web blog almost daily, as it typically shows clothes for less than 50$ which if you worked would realize is about a days worth of work. At the end of the week, I can choose to purchase one of these and combine them with other items I have. Maybe its the fact that you don't work? And its quite humerous how you submit this anonymously. I think someone should work more often or get a job to begin with. Like the author stated, dresses that are typically 1,200$ which drop to 80$. Since your into your economical figures, thats 15x less than what it would be. Time to go back to math class.
