Wearable Art

Famous French designer, Coco Chanel, once said:

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

We often forget the process it takes for a garment to reach its endpoint, hanging in the closet. Somewhere, someone had to conceptualize an idea from some sort of inspiration and execute this vision into a wearable piece.

Michael Kors, an American fashion designer, once said on the television show Project Runway, that fashion is wearable art. In this blog I take four of the most well known paintings and transition them into wearable outfits. Let me know your thoughts!
